Adele and Daniel Le Brun have dedicated over 45 years to pioneering méthode traditionelle in New Zealand.
Known in the industry as the "Grandfather of Méthode Traditionelle", Daniel has steadfastly upheld the techniques he learned from his father in Champagne, passing on this family legacy to his children and winemaking team.
Adele oversees the business side and branding, her meticulous attention to detail evident in the unique and elegant labels that distinguish the No.1 range.
Their dedication and commitment to New Zealand Methode Traditionelle and the Marlborough wine industry have been recognised alongside their industry peers.

Virginie Le Brun
Virginie was immersed in vineyards and winemaking from the age of 4 months, growing up surrounded by the family business. During school breaks, she worked in the winery, helping with bottling and labeling.
Virginie's outgoing personality led to a successful career in acting and presenting. Taking a break from the spotlight, she explored the world of fine wines and spirits, working for Amathus Drinks in London. Regular visits to her Champagne family helped her discover a deep connection to her heritage and appreciate her parents' achievements in New Zealand. She became the No. 1 Family Estate Global Brand Ambassador in London from 2013-2017.
Now the Sales Director based in Marlborough, Virginie's love of presenting and passion for the family brand is captivating. She is a natural ambassador, and has recently embarked on winemaking studies to broaden her expertise and industry knowledge.

Lee Dobson
At just 19 years old, Lee Dobson joined No.1 Family Estate in 2003. He started out assisting in the vineyard and winery, quickly impressing with his passion and dedication. Recognising Lee's potential, Daniel took him under his wing, mentoring him and supporting him through his winemaking studies.
Today, Lee is the Winery Manager and Winemaker at No.1 Family Estate, overseeing the day-to-day operations.

Samantha Scott
Samantha Scott joined No.1 Family Estate in 2002 in an administrative role.
Drawing on her background in finance and sharp attention to detail, she quickly advanced to General Manager and now serves as CEO.
Samantha enjoys working with the team and has developed a deep understanding of every aspect of the business over the years.

Jo Gibbons
Since joining No.1 Family Estate in 2018, Jo has been the welcoming face of our cellar door.
With a wealth of experience in hospitality and the Marlborough wine region, she combines deep industry knowledge with a bubbly personality to guide visitors through the art of crafting No.1 Méthode Traditionelle.
